Hello everyone, Here is the information for the canoe/camping trip this coming Saturday and Sunday (May 4 and 5).
We will canoe the Little Tallahatchie River to Hurricane Landing on Sardis Lake where we will camp. It will be a fun and full day of canoeing.
We will meet on Saturday morning at 9am at the southwest side of the Veterans Memorial Bridge in Abbeville. It’s about 20 minutes from Oxford on Route 7. As you approach the bridge, look to your left and there is a parking lot where we will meet. Here is a link with the general area, though the kayak access point is actually on the southwest side, not in the middle of the bridge as it shows:

Bring your own lunch, drinks, and snacks for the canoe trip. Wear a bathing suit and water shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses. Also bring a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, mess kit, and change of clothes for after the canoeing and for Sunday. Keep an eye on the weather as right now there is a chance of rain for Saturday night so a rain coat might be a good idea.
We will provide the canoes, paddles, and life jackets as well as food and drinks for dinner on Saturday night and breakfast on Sunday morning.
Pickup will be on Sunday morning at 11am in Oxford at First Presbyterian Church. Cost is $10.
