As Ben mentioned in his previous email, we are all looking forward to Troop 45’s Camping event this weekend at Trace State Park.
Below I have placed all relevant details for the weekend. Please contact me, Nathan Crouch, at *601-934-5628*, Ben Stepp, or one of the other leaders, for any additional details.
*Drop Off Time & Location:*
– 5:30 pm Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, Oxford – *Please note that dinner will not be provided on Friday evening, so we ask that your son eat before arriving at the campout.*
*Pick Up Time & Location:*
– 12:15 pm Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church, Oxford – *Please watch your email late Sunday morning for any updates. If there is an unforeseen delay, we would alert you via email.*
*Camping location:*
– Trace State Park – 2139 Faulkner Rd, Belden, MS 38826 – www.mdwfp.com/parks-destinations/park/trace-state-park
*Plan and details for the Weekend:*
– We will have ~24 Scouts and ~9 leaders and attend the full campout, traveling caravan style from the Church in ~6 vehicles. – The plan is to tent camp on both Friday and Saturday evening. Troop 45 will supply the tents. (Hammocks are ok as well) – For this campout we will be working with the Scout Youth Leadership to run a series of Scout Skill building sessions. These will include, Woodcraft(Ax/Knife handling), First Aid, Fire building, and Rope/Knots. – The Scouts will be responsible for cooking all of their meals inside of 3 separate patrols. – Time permitting, we may also spend a few hours in a Frisbee Golf game so if your son has a set of frisbees, please bring them. (No need to buy new ones, as we will have some available)
*Items to bring:*
– See Ben’s previous email below
Thank you for encouraging and supporting your Scout to attend.
Warm Regards,
Nathan Crouch
