Please see the email below from Mr. Jason regarding Scout Sunday.

Dear Troop 45 Parents:
*February 11th is Scout Sunday.* This is a time to recognize Scouting’s Anniversary Day (Feb 8) and to celebrate the contributions of young people and adults to Scouting. *We invite your Scout to join Troop 45 as it attends the 11:00am worship service at First Presbyterian Church. *
First Pres is Troop 45’s Chartered Organization, our partner in Scouting. It provides physical space and other resources necessary for the well-being of our Troop. Troop 45 hopes to use Scout Sunday as a way to visibly say thank you to the congregation of First Pres.
Here’s the nitty-gritty:
– *Scouts are encouraged to attend, but this is not a mandatory event.* We realize this may disrupt a family’s normal Sabbath observances. Still, we would like for as many Scouts as possible to attend so we can offer a genuine “thank you” to the First Pres congregation. – *Scouts will meet at 10:30* outside in the courtyard and then we’ll all enter and sit together. – *Scouts will stay until 1:30 *to serve and to clean up a light meal for the congregation in the Fellowship Hall and each Scout will earn *two service hours*. – Scouts should wear their Class A uniform, with kerchief and green trousers, if they have them. – Some Scouts may be asked to help with the worship service by handing out bulletins or ushering. – Parents and families of our Scouts are welcomed to attend the service and stay for the meal afterwards. – Please talk this over with your Scout so we may get a *head count by this Monday’s meeting on Feb 5th*.
Scout Sunday is an opportunity for Scouts to publicly demonstrate the 12th point of the Scout Law: A Scout is Reverent. BSA recognizes a religious element in the training of Scouts, but it is *absolutely nonsectarian in its attitude toward that religious training. *
If you have any questions, please contact us.
Yours in Scouting,
Jason Bouldin

Fwd: Ski Trip – Final details

For those going on the ski trip, Please see email below from Mr. Gary.
———- Forwarded message ——— From: Gary Wilson <garywilson1500@gmail.com> Date: Mon, Jan 22, 2024 at 9:05 PM Subject: Ski Trip – Final details To: Benjamin Stepp <benjamin.d.stepp@gmail.com>
Hello all, Here are the final details for the ski trip this weekend.
On Saturday, we will leave from First Presbyterian Church at 7am. Please get to the Church by 6:50am. We are going to stop for lunch at Lambert’s Cafe in Sikeston, Missouri. We will then continue on to Hidden Valley Ski Resort, arriving around 2pm. We will get our rental gear and ski from 3-10pm and have dinner at the resort. We will then go to the Super 8 by Wyndham in Eureka which is about 15 minutes from the ski resort. On Sunday we will have breakfast at the hotel and then drive to downtown St. Louis. We have tickets for the Top of the Arch at 10am, and can spend time at the museum. At around 11:30 we will start driving back to Oxford. We will get lunch on the way and be back at First Presbyterian Church at around 6:30. We will email everyone when we have a better estimate of the time.
The weather is expected to be in the mid 40s for a high and low 30s for a low, with a chance of rain showers on Saturday. Please pack warm clothes, wool socks, gloves, and a hat. If you have snow pants, or rain pants, that would be good. Don’t wear jeans, sweatpants, or cotton materials when skiing if possible.
If you haven’t filled out the waiver forms and given them to me, please have them filled out and bring them.
Thanks, Gary
